Pets are just like family to many of us, and we love to see them enjoying a day at the park. That being said, we need to ensure that we are being cautious when bringing pets around kids. Even if you have the best behaved dog on the strongest leash, it may not be appropriate to have them right next to a soccer game. Some kids have extreme anxiety around even small dogs. Try to use good judgment on how close you have your pet to any games. As always be respectful of others. If someone seems afraid of your pet, please remove your pet from a dangerous situation. If your pet seems to be uncomfortable with the crowds and activity, use common sense and take them away from the games. The last thing anyone wants is a fun day enjoying soccer to turn into a conflict. Needless to say, if you do bring your pet to the park you are responsible for keeping them under control at all times. This is more than just a good idea it is part of the State of Ohio revised code.
Control of Dogs - No owner, keeper and/or harborer of any dog shall fail to keep it either physically confined upon the premises by a leash, tether, adequate fence, or secure enclosure to prevent escape, or under reasonable control of some person. 955.22ORC
